Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren recently visited The University of New Mexico-Gallup, leaving a trail of inspiration and encouragement for students and faculty alike. Nygren's journey to success and his dedication to education resonated with those present during his visit.

UNM-Gallup Chancellor Sabrina Ezzell expressed her gratitude for Nygren's presence, noting, “He was inspiring, and it was great to see his commitment to education." Nygren, accompanied by Ezzell, Dean of Instruction John Zimmerman, and Student Affairs Director Jayme McMahon, explored the campus, engaging with the community and sharing his personal experiences.

During a campus forum, Nygren opened up about his educational struggles and triumphs, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and passion. Reflecting on his own path, Nygren shared, “Just go, go, go, go” and encouraged students to stay focused on their goals, despite challenges they may face.

Nygren's message resonated with students like Deanndrea Antonio and Lathan Hood, who aim to make a difference in their community through their studies in human services. Nygren also took the time to answer students' questions, ranging from education trends to cultural references, showcasing his approachability and willingness to connect with the audience.
